A “smart” sensor… just got smarter!
Much like the PCS-250, its predecessor, the PCS-350 sensor offers a “Teach Function”. However, the PCS-350 sensor is equipped with an AC Brushless Motor also known in the industry as a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor or (PMSM), fitted with its own Integrated Drive System.
Far superior to its forerunner, the PCS-350 automatically learns its home position at start up and it is immediately ready to learn the position to be monitored.
Integrated Micro Tool Detection
As Micro Tools became more widely used, there was an increase in the need for reliable Tool Monitoring capable of detecting such fragile tools. After listening to customer feedback and researching the sector, Allora International determined that new products were needed to address the sensitive nature of these delicate tools. Now we have enabled users to monitor Micro Tools well below 0.5mm in diameter with precision and repeatability.
What’s New
NEW FEATURE: The PCS-350 has the ability to set multiple tolerance angles with an adjustable window from ±1° to ±20°.
NEW LEGACY MODE for the PCS-350: Allows the system to operate just like the older PCS-100 Sensor with fixed yet settable angle (now easily adjustable electronically).
INTRODUCING THE BSC-MOP-6! Allows user to set up the monitor right in the machining area and test all various settings for control force & swing and the adjustable swing angle.
The PCS-350 Positive Contact Sensor is a remarkably smart tool sensor; it can learn and remember the tool or object locations at the touch of a button directly from the Controller or via signal received by the machine tool Control or PLC.
The PCS-350 is equipped with an external mechanical “Stop” typically used as an the initial “Home” position.
The PCS-350 range of operation and monitoring is available throughout its approximate 355° of travel.
The PCS-350 can swing and learn a specific position in CW and CCW direction. Much like the entire PCS [Positive Contact Sensor] family of products, the PCS-350 is free of miniature reversing gearboxes, the weakest part of any other sensor in the market to date.
The PCS-350 System combines the unsurpassed performance of an AC Brushless Motor technology, the tough, compact construction of innovative rotary position tool-sensing equipment, and powerful software that is simply logical, straightforward and operator-friendly.
The PCS-350 is CANopen® able. Based on the Control option selected, the system can communicate and be integrated, with the use of standard cabling, into a CANopen® grid, allowing for simplified installation and networking of multiple sensors.
The PCS-350’s new slim Controller design, is only 25mm wide–thus considerably reducing the amount of space required in the machine tool electrical control cabinet.
The PCS-350 System is the answer when high-speed sensing is a requirement at an extremely reasonable price. It is truly a tough, American-made sensor constantly ready to battle your most challenging and demanding tool monitoring needs.
